Company history

Established in 1982 in the UK, the founding company consisted of multi-disciplined consulting engineers and range users specialising in the design of firearms training ranges.

From the outset, services included a full study of threat analysis to determine the training requirements, schematic and detailed design drawings, equipment specifications, tender documentation and contract supervision.

In response to customer feedback, the founding company developed itself to undertake the role of Prime Contractor for specialised training facilities. This expanded the company's core capabilities to include the supply and fit-out of specialist materials and training equipment, and the provision of comprehensive maintenance programmes.

In 1997, the founding company established an office in Singapore to manage and coordinate the design, construction and fit-out of an indoor shooting range complex in Southeast Asia.

In 1999, the founding company was acquired by the US-based simulator company Advanced Interactive Systems™, Inc. AIS Ltd was formed in the UK as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Advanced Interactive Systems™.

In 2004, AIS Ltd acquired Trenton Technical Services, an engineering firm that specialises in the maintenance of targetry systems and electronics.
